Day To Day Kitchen Maintenance23May 2014
When it comes to cleaning, the kitchen is a place that can be a bit of a nuisance, but it needs also to be attended to well, as it is somewhere that really does need to be cleaned well, given the amount of food preparation that goes on in there. You will find that the best way to ensure that there is no chance of the kitchen being too difficult to clean is to ensure that you keep a tight ship in the kitchen when you are going about your daily use of the room. After all, if you are always ensuring that it is at its best, then there will be little reason for cleaning properly at any other time! Be sure to have a look over the following steps and tips for keeping the place looking great all the time, so that you don’t have to worry about spending ages at a time sorting the place out!For a start, you should clean as you go. When you are cooking, you can often save yourself a whole load of time by simply being able to reduce the mess that you leave in place. This means knocking things in to the bin as you are done with them, and washing up pots and pans as they are finished with. Leaving things to be cleaned later is a sure fire way to ensure that they get left for ages, deteriorating the cleanliness of the room. Having a sink full of dirty dishes will also mean that people leave things around the sink, as there is less room to sue the sink themselves, and this can create all sorts of chaos. Wash up, or get things in to the dish washer as soon as possible, and preferably whilst you are up and about any way with all of the cleaning! The same goes for wiping down the surfaces. Use a cloth or tea towel with some anti bacterial spray on it, to smooth over the surface whenever you are done with cutting up an ingredient, or if you have spilled anything. The cooking process is a messy one, but you will easily be able to get it all cleared away as you go, if you keep such things in mind. Getting things cleared up as you make the messes will also mean that they are a lot easier to clean. In fact, much of the difficulty and time taken to clean will be down to the fact that they are dried in to place, and tough to remove. Sticky, dried on stains will not have been sticky and dried on when you first spilt them, so get rid of them right away so that you don’t have to worry about it all later! Be sure to have the windows open when the weather allows it, especially if the room is getting really steamed up. Alongside drying down things and putting them away, and toweling off any standing water on the counter tops, this will ensure that the likelihood of mold is greatly reduced in the kitchen, which you need to ensure is the case. Mold can cause illnesses, and is a disgusting thing to have growing in the kitchen, so do all that you can to get rid of it, and you should be well on your way to a cleaner kitchen in a general sense! Of course, you will need to do deeper cleans of the fridge, oven and microwave every now and again, but the overall appearance of the room should be much improved.
